You can then run anti-malware tools against your drive and hopefully clean it off. Do you think Spysweeper interfered with the previous scan in normal mode?Thanks again. This thing is killing me.

What exactly are you referring to? The posting of advertisements, profanity, or personal attacks is prohibited. After using rkill, job was done in 10 minutes. I think more recent versions of the OS aren't doing that, but I do hear of it happening.

Spybot will fix like 90 problems, but the virus will still be there. i am what you would call a tech novice and the rkill and bleepingcomputer instructions are what someone like me needed to take care of problem and save money. this was so very helpful and did the trick. When I click no Windows brings up some system restore thing.
